With his recording of Igor Stravinsky's Anti-War Music Theatre The Soldiers, Roger Waters continues his long-standing musical engagement with the theme of war and the personal loss of his father in the Second and Grandfather in World War II.
The album was released to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice of Compiègne, which ended the First World War on 11 November 1918, and shortly after the 100th anniversary of the premiere of Stravinsky's Music Theatre on 28 September 1918.
